Titans vs. Colts 10/2/22 Betting Prediction, Odds, and Trends

AFC South rivals face off in Indianapolis, IN on Sunday afternoon when Week 4’s NFL Sunday slate begins at 1 PM ET.

Can Indy keep building off of last week’s win over the Chiefs and cover the 3.5-point spread as home favorites?

The Titans opened their season with a one-point home loss to the New York Giants. They then lost badly to the Buffalo Bills in week 2 and got their first win against the Las Vegas Raiders last weekend. Tennessee is 1-2 ATS this year.

The Indianapolis Colts are 1-1-1 with a tie against the Houston Texans, a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and a big win over the Chiefs last weekend. The Colts are 1-2 ATS this season.

Tennessee Titans DFS Spin

It might be tempting to insert Titans star running back Derrick Henry into your lineup. I don’t think there’s much value there. Henry is only averaging 3.6 yards per carry and the Colts’ defense is giving up only 2.6 yards per rushing attempt, the best figure in the league through 3 weeks.

The Colts are 21st in the NFL when it comes to passing yards allowed per attempt. Because of this, wide receivers Robert Woods and Treylon Burks might be worth a look as they’re the top 2 on the Titans in targets and yards. If you’re in need of a deep sleeper or two, consider Titans rookie wide receiver Kyle Philips out of UCLA as long as he plays. Philips is currently questionable questionable with a shoulder injury. Or you could think about reserve running back Dontrell Hilliard who leads the Titans in touchdown catches with 2 on the year.

Indianapolis Colts DFS Spin

The Tennessee Titans rank last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per carry at 5.8. This makes Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor a must-play for Sunday. Backup running back Nyheim Hines might have some value as well as Matt Ryan has used him as a check-down option to the tune of 17 targets (2nd on the team) through 3 games.

If you think that Indianapolis is going to be trailing in this game, you should invest in their pass catchers like Michael Pittman Jr. or Ashton Dulin. Rookie tight end Jelani Woods may be a good sleeper as he caught 2 touchdowns in his first game action against the Chiefs last weekend.

Titans vs. Colts Betting Trends

Tennessee is 24-12 straight up in the regular season since the beginning of 2020.

Indianapolis is 21-14-1 straight up in the regular season since the beginning of 2020.

55% of the handle is on the Colts  -3.5.

Tennessee is 11-10 ATS dating back to the beginning of last year.

Indianapolis is 11-9 ATS dating back to the beginning of last season.

The road team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between Tennessee and Indianapolis.

Tennessee is 4-1 in their last 5 games in Indianapolis.

The under is 8-0 in Indianapolis’ last 8 games overall.

The under is 6-0 in Indianapolis’ last 6 games after allowing over 250 passing yards in their previous game.

Titans vs. Colts Prediction:

I still believe in the Tennessee Titans. They could very easily be 2-1 as they lost their opening game to the New York Giants on a late-game two-point conversion. The number’s aren’t great for Indianapolis QB Matt Ryan (3 touchdown passes, 4 interceptions, 23rd in QBR) and I don’t feel good about laying more than a field goal with him against any team that’s halfway decent. I do think this game will be close, like a 3-point game either way. Because of that, and because Tennessee has beaten Indianapolis 3 out of the last 4 times they’ve played, I’ll take the Titans and the points.
