NFL Week 4 Picks & Predictions

2011 nfl week 4 free picks predictions odds trends

(The Spread) – What are our top 4 plays for Week 4 in the NFL? Read on to find out.

Our two underdog picks last week, the Giants and Raiders, won outright but the Patriots squandered a 21-0 first-half lead and lost to Buffalo, while the Chargers failed to cover against the Chiefs. Thus, we finished 2-2 in Week 4 and are now 5-5-1 on the season. We’ll try to snap this .500 funk with a strong effort in Week 4.

Saints @ Jaguars, 1:00PM ET

According to latest NFL trends, the under is 4-0-1 in the Saints’ last five games in Week 4 and 4-1 in the Jaguars’ last five games overall. While the Saints have scored 30-plus points in each of their first three games (which would pursued most bettors to take the over), the Jaguars’ offense probably won’t do their part to ensure that this total goes over. They have a rookie starting quarterback in Blaine Gabbert and therefore will look to keep the ball on the ground with Maurice Jones-Drew. Look for this one to fall under the total.

NFL WEEK 4 FREE PICK: UNDER 45.5

Bills @ Bengals, 1:00PM ET

The trends have not been favorable for the Bengals in this matchup, as the Bills are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, and in their last four road games versus Cincinnati. But while the Bills are certainly legit thanks to a powerful offense, this has letdown written all over it. They just got done beating the Patriots in an emotion come-from-behind victory last Sunday and now have to hit the road and play a Bengals team that’s more competitive than people think. If Cincinnati can generate more offense than it did last weekend against the 49ers, they could win this game outright. They’re already a value as a home underdog, so take the points and let’s see if the Bungles can’t hand Buffalo its first loss.

Steelers @ Texans, 1:00PM ET

Matt Schaub and the Texans have often struggled in games like these over the years, but it’s time for them to notch that signature win. The only time Pittsburgh has played well this season was at home against a brutal Seattle team that has zero offense with Tarvaris Jackson under center. Outside of that, they were hammered in Baltimore in Week 1 and barely squeaked by Curtis Painter and the Colts last Sunday night. According to latest NFL trends, the Steelers are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games in Week 4 and 2-5 ATS in their last seven October contests. The Texans are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games in Week 4 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a favorite. Look for Houston to play well at home this week.

NFL WEEK 4 FREE PICK: HOUSTON TEXANS –4

Broncos @ Packers, 4:15PM ET

The Packers had an exhausting, emotional win against the Saints in Week 1 and then turned around and nearly lost to the Panthers in Week 2. This time around, they just played a physical game against a NFC North opponent in Chicago and now return home to play an inferior Denver team. There’s a good chance that Aaron Rodgers and company could sleepwalk through another game this Sunday, as Denver keeps the score within 10 points. According to latest NFL trends, the Packers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games in Week 4 and 4-12-2 ATS in their last 18 games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater. The Broncos, meanwhile, are 6-2 against the number in their last eight games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous outing and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games as an underdog. John Fox usually has his teams prepared to play, no matter how lacking in overall talent they may be.
