Rams vs. Seahawks TNF Total Prediction
NFC West rivals clash in Seattle on Thursday night when the Seahawks host the Rams at 8:20 p.m. ET. With the total sitting at 49.5 points, what is the best play when it comes to the over/under for bettors?
Game Snapshot
301 Los Angeles Rams (+1.5) at 302 Seattle Seahawks (-1.5); O/U 49.5
8:20 p.m. ET, Thursday, October 1, 2019
CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA
According to our NFL Public Betting Chart page, the Rams are drawing 54% of the betting tickets ahead of Thursday night’s game. At some points, the Seahawks opened as 2.5-point underdogs but the line jumped the fence and now across the board Seattle is a 1.5-point home favorite.
Los Angeles Rams Fantasy Spin
Jared Goff completed 45-of-68 passes for 517 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in the Rams’ 55-40, Week 4 loss to the Rams. He dropped back to pass 70 times, taking two sacks. Goff’s 68 attempts were a new career high by 15 after firing off 53 last year against the Eagles. It was a terrific fantasy day for Goff, but he was brutal in real life. He could have easily had two or three more interceptions and also lost another fumble that was returned for a back-breaking touchdown in the final minutes with the Rams down by eight at the time. Goff has not been all that good through four weeks. This offensive line is a work in progress as well. The Rams travel to Seattle on a short week for Thursday Night Football in Week 5.
Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Spin
Russell Wilson completed 22-of-28 passes for 240 yards and one score in Seattle’s Week 4 win over the Cardinals. Known for being notoriously slow starters, Russell Wilson and Seattle’s offense grabbed an early lead following a successful field goal try and Jadeveon Clowney’s pick-six, then cruised to an easy win. Will Dissly’s nine-yard score allowed Wilson to sit back and watch as Chris Carson (22/104) sealed the deal. It’s the first time this year Russ has failed to throw for multiple scores, but it was never going to happen with the Cardinals offering zero threat from kick-off. He’s yet to throw a single interception through four games. Thursday’s divisional matchup against the Rams projects for better game script in what should be a high-scoring affair, keeping Wilson as a confident QB1 in Week 5.
Los Angeles
The under is 4-1 in the Rams’ last five games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
Seattle
The over is 8-2 in the Seahawks’ last 10 home games versus a team with a winning road record.
Thursday Night NFL Prediction
These games tend to go under in Seattle, with five of the previous seven meetings between the Rams and Seahawks falling under at CenturyLink Field. That said, the over has been a great play when the Seahawks are involved, cashing in 10 of their last 13 games overall. The over is also 5-1 in their last six divisional games and 5-2 in their last seven games at home. With the Rams surrendering 55 points (six of which were scored by Tampa’s defense) last week in their loss to the Bucs, I see the over being the best play on Thursday night. The total has already jumped from 47.5 up to 49.5 and I wouldn’t be shocked to see the number in the 50s shortly.
