Raiders vs. Ravens Pick
The Baltimore Ravens looks to stay unbeaten when they play host to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday at 1PM ET.
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Ravens are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Raiders. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 46 points. Baltimore has won four of the last five in this series while covering the spread in three of those five meetings.
Baltimore found a way to pick up a 19-17 road win over the Jaguars last week to improve to 3-0 on the season. Baltimore failed to cover the spread for the first time in nine games. Baltimore hasn’t been great on offense, averaging just 19 points and 340.3 yards per game, however the defense has been one of the best in the league. The Ravens are giving up 14.7 points and 274.3 yards per contest. The defense has nine sacks as a unit with five interceptions. Joe Flacco has thrown for 774 yards and three touchdowns, but also has four interceptions.
The Raiders improved to 2-1 on the season with a 17-10 win at Tennessee last week. The Raiders are also 2-1 against the spread with the victory. Oakland has been a great offense, averaging 26.7 points and 437.3 yards per game, but the defense is giving up yards by the dozens. Oakland is giving up 480.3 yards per game, most in the NFL. Derek Carr has thrown for 867 yards and five touchdowns on the season, with Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree combining for 490 receiving yards.
While Carr has looked great, he is going on the road to face the league’s second-ranked defense. That won’t be good for the Oakland defense, which hasn’t been able to really limit anyone in terms of yards. Even in holding the Titans to 10 points last week, they still allowed nearly 400 yards. Oakland will struggle to stop Flacco, and Carr likely won’t be able to keep pace against the Ravens defense. Look for Baltimore to get another win and stay atop the AFC North.
