Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Eagles are 6.5-point favorites to beat the Colts. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47.5 points. As of this writing, 61% of the public betting tickets are on the Eagles to cover the point spread.
Colts LT Anthony Castonzo (hamstring) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice. He hasn't seen the field since re-injuring his hamstring at practice last Wednesday. Le'Raven Clark filled in for Castonzo at left tackle in Sunday's win over Washington.
Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) remained limited at Wednesday's practice. He was limited all last week. Jeffery is working his way back from extensive shoulder surgery. With the Eagles desperate for receiver help and healthy bodies, they could push Jeffery harder than they had originally planned.
NFL Betting Trends
The under is 5-0 in the Colts’ last five road games and is 9-1 in their last 10 games overall.
The under is 5-1 in the Eagles’ last six home games.
It’s likely going to take a few weeks before Wentz is successfully able to shake off the rest. In the meantime, the Eagles will need to rely on their defense to carry them. Andrew Luck and the Colts scored a nice victory last Sunday in D.C. but their offense didn’t necessarily light it up. Luck was intercepted twice and threw for just 179 yards in the win. Meanwhile, the Eagles did score 21 points in their 27-21 loss to the Bucs but they were forced to be aggressive in the second half in order to overcome a double-digit lead. I see the game script playing out much differently in Philly this weekend.
NFL Week 3 Prediction: Colts/Eagles under 47.5
