Cowboys vs. Seahawks Total Prediction
The 0-2 Seattle Seahawks will hope that some home cooking will do them good on Sunday when they host the Dallas Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. ET. Will the game turn into a defensive slugfest for bettors?
Game Snapshot
485 Dallas Cowboys at 486 Seattle Seahawks
4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday, September 23
CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Seahawks are 1.5-point favorites to beat the Cowboys. The total, meanwhile, sits at 41.5 points. As of this writing, 53% of the public betting tickets are on the Seahawks to cover the point spread.
Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys DE Randy Gregory (concussion) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Seahawks. As expected, Gregory will return after missing Week 2 with a concussion. Gregory’s return strengthens a Dallas pass-rush that recorded six sacks in last week’s win over the Giants.
Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson (hamstring) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Cowboys. This injury isn’t a concern, but it’s another reason to shy away from Wilson in Week 3. Wilson has 524 yards and a 5:3 TD/INT ratio through the first two games.
NFL Betting Trends
Dallas
The under is 10-1 in the Cowboys’ last 11 games overall.
Seattle
The under is 7-3 in the Seahawks’ last 10 games played in the month of September.
Prediction
The Seahawks are a mess on offense. Brian Schottenheimer was hired to restore Seattle’s running game but his infective play-calling knows no bounds. Not that it’s all on Schottenheimer. Russell Wilson was under siege last Monday night in Chicago and he doesn’t have his best weapon in the passing game in Doug Baldwin (out). On the other side, the Cowboys are dealing with a banged-up offensive line and they don’t have any receivers either. The total for this game has already been bet down from 44.5 to 41.5 but I still like the under.
NFL Week 3 Prediction: Cowboys/Seahawks under 41.5
