Chargers vs. Bengals Free Pick
The Chargers made the cross-country trek to Cincinnati this week and will play the Bengals at 1:00PM ET. Will San Diego cover as a slight underdog?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Bengals are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Chargers while the over/under currently sits at 47 points after it opened at 45.5.
Quarterback Andy Dalton is surrounded by some of the best weapons of his career, from receiver A.J. Green to tight end Tyler Eifert (who was targeted 12 times in Cincinnati's Week 1 win over Oakland) and running back Jeremy Hill. Dalton should be able to put up good numbers against San Diego's secondary today, much like Matthew Stafford did last week until a crushing hit rendered him ineffective in the second half.
The Chargers also lost a significant piece of their offensive when D.J. Fluker suffered a high-ankle sprain last week. Fluker played well in his first career start at right guard and losing him for the next 4-6 weeks will have a negative affect on San Diego's offense. Chris Hairston should start at right guard this week.
The Chargers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Bengals, who will have revenge on their minds after being knocked out of the playoffs in the wild card round two years ago.
