NFL Week 2 Regular Season
San Francisco 49ers DFS Spin
Jimmy Garoppolo completed 17-of-25 passes for 314 yards and one touchdown in the 49ers' 41-33, Week 1 win over the Lions. Trey Lance came on to vulture a five-yard touchdown from Garoppolo in the first quarter, but it was the only pass the rookie would throw all day. Garoppolo's day started as bad as it could with a lost fumble on a bad exchange on the opening play of the game, but it was all good from there. His touchdown was a nicely-thrown ball to Deebo Samuel down the right side that Samuel took 79 yards to the house. Averaging a monstrous 12.6 yards per attempt should quiet the Lance crowd for at least a week ahead of a Week 2 date with the Eagles. Garoppolo is not a fantasy recommendation on such low pass volume.
Philadelphia Eagles DFS Spin
Jalen Hurts completed 27-of-35 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns in Philadelphia's 32-6, Week 1 win against the Falcons, adding seven carries for 62 yards. A strong start for Hurts, who feasted on Atlanta's rebuilding defense. Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith on a loft ball set up by a Zach Ertz pick to start things off. He added touchdowns to Jalen Reagor and Dallas Goedert later, supporting a balanced attack that didn't push the ball downfield much given Atlanta's willingness to be put in the crockpot. Hurts rumbles into Week 1 on the lower end of the QB1 line against a much more formidable 49ers defense, but if you drafted him, these are the kinds of results you like to see in smash situations.
