Ravens vs. Browns Prediction

NFL Week 2 Predictions: Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns 9/18/16

The Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens each hit the under in Week 1. Will the two hit it again when they meet today at 1PM ET?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Ravens are a road favorite on Sunday, as they are getting odds of -5.5 points against the Browns. The over/under total for the game is listed at 42.5 points. The Ravens have won three of the last four meetings in this series and the two have hit the over in four of their last five encounters.

Bet on Ravens vs. Browns

The Ravens started things last week with a 13-7 grinder win over the Bills at home. The Ravens hit the under in the game, their third straight under in the regular season. Baltimore showed a tremendous defensive effort in the win, holding the Bills to 160 total yards and only 65 rushing yards. The offense wasn’t stellar, but faced a usually-good Buffalo defense. Joe Flacco threw for 258 yards and a touchdown to lead the offense, but the run game averaged just 3 yards per carry, which is a concern going forward.

The Browns had a pretty awful Week 1, losing to the Eagles, 29-10. In the loss, Robert Griffin III injured his shoulder and is now out for half of the season. In the loss, the Browns hit the under, their sixth consecutive under during the regular season. In the loss to the Eagles, Cleveland gave up 400 yards of offense, including 278 passing yards from rookie QB Carson Wentz. The Cleveland offense had 120 rushing yards, which was a positive, but now the team turns the ball over to Josh McCown. He appeared in eight games last year and threw for 2,109 yards and 12 touchdowns with just four interceptions.

McCown could end up being the better option than Griffin for the Browns’ offense. However, he is likely to struggle this week against the Ravens. This is still his first year under Hue Jackson’s new system, so even last year’s stats can’t be taken too seriously. The Ravens aren’t a great offense, but should be able to manage some lengthy scoring drives. Look for this to be a rather low-scoring game that hits the under once again for Cleveland.
