Dolphins vs. Patriots Pick
Will the Dolphins and Patriots play under the total on Sunday when the AFC East Division rivals clash at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Dolphins, while the over/under currently sits at 42.5 points. While the total hasn't budged off the opening number, the side has gone from New England -5.5 up to -6.5.
MIAMI: The Dolphins fell 12-10 to the Seahawks in Seattle last Sunday but did cover as a 10.5-point road underdog. The under 43.5 also cashed as quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Arian Foster struggled. Tannehill is 16-of-29 for 186 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions, while Foster rushed 13 times for 38 yards and no scores.
NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots upset the Cardinals 23-21 as a 9-point road underdog, while the combined score of 44 fell a half-point short of the 44.5-point total so the under also cashed. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo played well in place of the suspended Tom Brady, throwing for 264 yards and a touchdown on 24-of-33 passing. LeGarrette Blount also rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts while Julien Edelman caught 7-of-7 targets for 66 yards.
OUR PICK: The Patriots' don't have the Seahawks' defense but they too should hold Tannehill and Co. in check this week. Garoppolo might also struggle against a Miami defensive line that is one of the best in the AFC, led by Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake and Mario Williams. The under is a perfect 4-0 in the Dolphins' last four games overall and 4-0 in their last four games versus AFC opponents. The under has also cashed ins ix of the last eight meetings between these two teams.
NFL WEEK 2 PICK: DOLPHINS/PATRIOTS UNDER 42.5
