Lions vs. Chargers Free Pick
In what should be a high-scoring affair, the Chargers will host the Lions in a non-conference tilt today at 4:05PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Chargers are now 3-point home favorites versus the Lions after opening as a 1.5-point favorite. The total has also moved, going from 45.5 up to 46 points, which is where it currently sits.
Philip Rivers, Keenan Allen and Stevie Johnson should be able to take advantage of Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy listed as doubtful with a hip injury. Josh Bynes will start in his place and while he's a solid run defender, he's not what Levy is in coverage. If San Diego tight end Ladarius Green can return from his concussion, that's even more reason to like the Chargers' ability to rack up points today.
On the other side, Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate and rookie runner Ameer Abdullah should take advantage of a San Diego pass rush that was 29th in the NFL with just 26 sacks in 2014. The Chargers are banking on an improved pass rush this season but it might take some time to come to fruition.
The over is 4-0 in the Lions' last four games in Week 1 and 19-9 in the Chargers' last 28 games in September.
