Lions vs. Colts Pick
Will there be much defense on display when the Indianapolis Colts host the Detroit Lions today at 4:25PM ET on FOX?
According to the oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Colts are a slight favorite in this game, as Indy is getting odds of -3 points against the Lions. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 51.5 points. These two last met in 2012 when Indianapolis picked up a 35-33 win. These two have hit the over in their last two meetings.
The Colts come in with an offense that should be ready to break out. After injuries plagued his 2015, Andrew Luck appears to be healthy and should be ready to connect often with his number of receivers. The issue for Indianapolis is the rash of injuries they have on defense, especially in the secondary. Vontae Davis and Darius Butler have already been declared out, which could be a real problem against this Detroit offense.
The Lions may be without Calvin Johnson now, but they added Marvin Jones and Anquan Boldin in free agency. That should allow Matthew Stafford to spread the ball around to his number of weapons, especially considering the Indianapolis injuries. If the Lions’ young offensive line can protect Stafford, the Lions should score plenty of points. On defense, the Lions have some players, but also give up big chunks of yards. Don’t look for Ezekiel Ansah to be enough of a difference to slow down the hyped-up Colts offense.

This game should be explosive. The Lions should be able to move the ball consistently and find the end zone often, as should the Colts. The total seems far too low for this contest. I could easily see both quarterbacks throwing for over 300 yards and the team with the ball last getting the win. Don’t be afraid to gamble on the winner.
