Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Spin
Updating an earlier report, Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed Marquise Brown (foot) will play against the Dolphins in Week 1. There was some concern over Brown’s Week 1 availability after he sat out Friday’s practice, though Harbaugh put those worries to rest with his latest remarks. A DeSean Jackson clone, Brown has the skill set to be a difference-making deep threat, though it’s probably best to wait and see how he meshes with Lamar Jackson (who has never been Mr. Accurate) first before employing him in fantasy.
Miami Dolphins Fantasy Spin
Dolphins signed RT J’Marcus Webb. Webb worked out for the Dolphins earlier this week and clearly Brian Flores’ staff liked what they saw. With Laremy Tunsil now in Houston, the Fins have a huge need at left tackle, though the veteran Webb is better viewed as a depth option for Miami.
Baltimore Betting Trends
The Ravens are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games and are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games in Week 1.
Miami Betting Trends
The Dolphins are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games played in Week 1 and are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games.
Prediction
The Dolphins might hang with the Ravens for a half but eventually, the defense will wear down and the offensive line won’t protect Ryan Fitzpatrick long enough for the passing game to keep Miami in the contest. The Ravens will be run-heavy again this season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to build a big enough lead to cover the spread. In fact, that running game will help shorten the game in the second half and protect whatever lead Baltimore builds in the first three quarters.
