Giants 2013 Season Odds
EAST RUTHERFORD (The Spread) – After winning the Super Bowl two years ago, where do the New York Giants stand in the eyes of oddsmakers heading into the 2013 NFL season?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are 22/1 to win the 2014 Super Bowl and 12/1 to win the NFC Conference this season. They’re also +200 to win the NFC East Division and have an over/under of 9 for number of wins they’ll have this season.
In free agency the Giants signed linebacker Dan Connor, tight end Brandon Myers, and defensive end Cullen Jenkins. They also released running back Ahmad Bradshaw, linebacker Michael Boley and defensive lineman Chris Canty.
In the draft the Giants invested their first-round pick in Syracuse offensive tackle Justin Pugh and selected Ohio State defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins in the second round. In the third they nabbed Texas A&M defensive end Damontre Moore and in the fourth they took Pugh’s former teammate Ryan Nassib of Syracuse.
The Giants are one of the more perplexing teams in the NFC this year. With Eli Manning back under center, their offense should once again be successful assuming receivers Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks can stay healthy. Their running game is a question mark heading into the season but David Wilson is an explosive player and the offensive line is underrated. Defensively, there’s question marks at linebacker and in the secondary, but as long as their pass rush remains potent than Tom Coughlin’s defense will be fine.
