Seahawks Win Total Prediction
The Seattle Seahawks won nine games last season but missed the playoffs for the first time since they lost in the NFL Divisional round in 2012. Will they rebound in 2018 or at least win eight games?
Seattle Seahawks Season Betting Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Seahawks’ win total for the 2018 season has been set at 7.5. They’re also 65/1 long shots to win the Super Bowl this season, are 35/1 to win the NFC Conference Championship Game, and are 5/1 to win the NFC West Division this upcoming season.
The Seahawks added veteran receivers Brandon Marshall and Jaron Brown, as well as tight end Ed Dicks and guard D.J. Fluker. On defense, they landed defensive tackles Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen, as well as outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo and cornerback Dontae Johnsnon. They also signed kicker Sebastian Janikowski.
In the draft, the Seahawks surprised plenty of observers by taking San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny with the 27th overall pick. In the third round, they selected USC defensive end Rasheem Green and in the forth they took Washington tight end Will Dissly.
Seahawks Season Win Total Prediction
The Seahawks were a shell of their former selves defensively last season and offered little to no help to quarterback Russell Wilson and receiver Doug Baldwin. Their offensive line was a mess and they weren’t effective utilizing their running backs in the passing game. They won nine games basically on the athletic ability of Wilson.
This offseason they hardly made any significant upgrades and their decision to hire Brian Schottenheimer to replace Darrell Bevell was a head-scratcher. In 2017, the Seahawks benefited from a soft schedule. In 2018, they will face one of the toughest final nine games of the season, which features games against two projected to-five opponents, two projected top-ten teams, and four more games against teams ranked 11th-16th. In other words, it’s going to be difficult to win another nine games and it might be challenging to even post a .500 record for Pete Carroll and Co.
