CHICAGO BEARS: Running back Jordan Howard will not play in tonight’s preseason game after suffering a minor abrasion in Friday’s walkthrough. He won’t travel to Arizona but should practice next week. Meanwhile, Mitchell Trubisky knows he still has a lot of work to do despite impressing in his preseason debut. He completed 18-of-25 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown, but spoke of making too many mistakes in practice this week.
ARIZONA CARDINALS: Bruce Arians continued to call out his receiver corps this week. He noted that he doesn’t expect rookie Chad Williams to have an early-season role and questioned John Brown’s place on the team if he is not able to overcome his sickle-cell issues, which remain an issue for the receiver. Arians also said that Jaron Brown is the Cardinals’ No. 2 receiver right now.

OUR PREDICTION: The Cardinals will either come out motivated following Arians’ comments this week or they’ll be disjointed. I’m betting on the former. Mike Glennon was horrendous last week versus Denver’s first-team defense and things don’t get that much easier tonight against Arizona. Trubisky was impressive, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he played more like a rookie tonight. I’ll side with the home squad.
