JPP likely to miss start of season
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – Jason Cole of Bleacher Report says that Giants’ defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is likely to begin the season on the NFI list.
JPP injured his hand over the weekend in a fourth of July fireworks incident. If he were placed on the NFL list, it would cost him the first six games of the season. Cole writes that Pierre-Paul “dodged a bullet” by only suffering “flesh injures,” but he’s required skin grafts for his hand.
In related news, ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter reports that Giants officials have been in South Florida since Monday evening but have not been allowed to visit their star defender. Per Schefter, the team is “waiting patiently” and “hoping he’s okay.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are 28/1 to win the 2016 Super Bowl and 16/1 to win the NFC Conference Championship. They’re also 3/1 to win the NFC East Division next season.
