Texans’ NFL Season Odds
HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – Oddsmakers have set the Texans’ over/under for wins in 2015 at 8.5 after the team won nine games last season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Houston’s 2016 Super Bowl odds have also been set at 50/1 and its odds to win the AFC Conference championship are 22/1. Listed behind only the Colts (1/4), the Texans’ odds to win the AFC South Division are 9/2.
This offseason the Texans re-signed cornerback Kareem Jackson, linebacker Whitney Mercilus and quarterback Ryan Mallett. The team also added veterans Brian Hoyer, Cecil Shorts III, Vince Wilfork, Stevie Brown, Nate Washington and Rahim Moore.
Among Houston’s offseason losses were long-time veteran wideout Andre Johnson, linebacker Brooks Reed and center Chris Myers. In the draft Houston added cornerback Kevin Johnson, linebacker Benardrick McKinney and receiver Jaelen Strong.
The Texans are on the ascent thanks to second-year head coach Bill O’Brien, who has skill position players Arian Foster, DeAndre Hopkins, Shorts and Strong at his disposal. And while the defense will also be a strong suit, quarterback production is the biggest question mark for Houston heading into 2015.
