Ravens hand out Super Bowl rings
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) – The Baltimore Ravens received their Super Bowl rings Friday night during a ceremony at the team’s training complex.
Ray Lewis, who retired after the season, was among those in attendance. For Lewis, the ring will serve as a memento of his 17th NFL season.
Lewis said, “There’s no better way to go out. That I can hold this the rest of my life and know I went out as champ.”
The ring is made with white and yellow gold and the face is somewhat oval in shape. A purple Ravens logo encrusted in diamonds stands in the middle and is positioned over a pair of Lombardi Trophies. The Ravens won their other Super Bowl after the 2000 season.
There are 243 diamonds, the two largest atop the Lombardi trophies.
