Talib shot in the leg
Aqib Talib was shot in the leg on Saturday, but seems to have avoided serious injury and will be able to return to the Denver Broncos soon.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ed Werder have reported on the story and state that Talib was shot at a nightclub early Sunday in Dallas. The bullet reportedly entered and exited his leg while avoiding arteries and ligaments. A team source told ESPN that Talib wouldn’t require surgery and that they didn’t believe Talib suffered a serious injury.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Broncos enter the season with 12/1 odds to win the Super Bowl next season. Denver is also listed with 7/1 odds to win the AFC Championship, while their over/under total for wins in 2016 is set at 9.
Talib is coming off his ninth season in the NFL. He appeared in 15 games for the Broncos last season, finishing with 39 tackles and three interceptions. In the postseason, Talib had 13 tackles in three games with no interceptions and six pass deflections. Denver was able to win the Super Bowl thanks to a strong defensive performance, with Talib being a key piece to that.
