Peterson to rejoin Vikings
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (TheSpread) – After a lengthy dispute with the Minnesota Vikings, it appears Adrian Peterson is returning to the team this week.
According to ESPN, Peterson will join the Vikings this week for their organized team activities. Peterson made his intentions clear despite telling the team in the past that he wanted to be traded.
“I’m returning because I want to. I’m a part of this football team and I owe it to the guys I play with and to our coaches,” Peterson wrote Tuesday morning in an email to ESPN. “I was planning on coming in this week, and I’m looking forward to getting back on the field. It’s what I love to do.”
According to the latest oddsmakers at GTBets, the Vikings are currently listed with 50/1 odds to win the Super Bowl next season. The Seattle Seahawks are favored with 6/1 odds while the Green bay Packers have 7/1 odds.
Peterson appeared in just one game last season, rushing for 75 yards on 21 carries. He then missed the remainder of the season following an investigation for child abuse and subsequent NFL suspension. Peterson rushed for 1,266 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2013 and had 2,097 yards and 12 scores in 2012. As a team in 2014, the Vikings rushed for 1,804 yards with 12 touchdowns.
