Falcons 2015 Win Total Odds
ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) - With a new coach and a new look, will the Falcons rebound from back-to-back sub-.500 seasons?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons' over/under for wins in 2015 has been established at 8.5. But the under has better odds at -135, while the over is +105. That means it'll cost more to wager on the under than the over, so oddsmakers are biased that Atlanta won't reach eight wins in 2015.
The Falcons hired a new coach in Dan Quinn, who was the defensive coordinator in Seattle the past two seasons. The team also invested heavily in its defense this offseason, signing Brooks Reed, Justin Durant and Adrian Clayborn to free agent deals, as well as added Vic Beasley, Jalen Collins and Grady Jarrett via the draft.
Despite putting together back-to-back losing seasons the last two years, the Falcons are actually a decent bet to finish with over 8 wins in 2015. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones lead a dangerous offense that should improve with a better running game under new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and rookie running back Tevin Coleman. Quinn will also go a long ways to fix the defense and both the Panthers and Saints have question marks in the division. It's not inconceivable for Atlanta to post nine wins this season.
