How many RBs will go in 1st round?
CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) - How many running backs will be selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under has been set at 1.5 for the number of running backs that will be selected in the first round. The over, however, carries higher odds at 1/5 while the under has odds of 3/1. That means for every $5 you wager on the over, you'll win $1 on a winning bet, while a $1 wager on the under will profit $3 if you win.
There's a reason why the odds favor the over 1.5. Despite tearing his ACL during the 2014 college season, Georgia's Todd Gurley is expected to be drafted somewhere in the first round, perhaps even in the top 10. Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon is also projected to go in the first round and Indiana's Telvin Coleman could even sneak into the top 32 picks as well.
Even though the position has become devalued, there's no shortage of teams that could use starting running backs. The Cowboys, Cardinals, Chargers and Lions are all in the market for running backs, as are the Falcons and even the Rams, who select in the top 10.
