2018 NFL Draft Prop Predictions

2018 NFL Draft Prop Predictions 4/26/18 Who Will Go No. 1?

Which player will be selected No. 1 in the 2018 NFL Draft? Here are some prop predictions ahead of tonight’s event.

Who will be selected first overall?

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook YouWager, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is 1/5 to be the first player selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns currently own the No. 1 selection but they could trade the pick at any point. The prop bet would apply to any team that selects No 1.

Continuing with the odds, USC signal-caller Sam Darnold has the next-best odds behind Mayfield at 9/4, while Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen and Penn State running back Saquon Barkley are 8/1, respectively. Bradley Chubb of N.C. State is 35/1 while Josh Rosen is 60/1.

There are multiple reports stating that Mayfield will be the No. 1 overall pick. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was told Mayfield is definitely in the running to be the No. 1 overall pick. Sources also told the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot that the Browns are believed to be down to Mayfield and Allen. Schefter also reported there is “mounting belief” among league executives and coaches that the Browns will take Mayfield while the Cleveland Plain Dealer flat out expects that the Browns will take Mayfield.

There’s too much smoke here for there not to be fire.

2018 NFL Draft Prediction: Baker Mayfield 1/5 to be No. 1 pick

Number of Quarterbacks Selected in Round 1

The over/under for this prop bet has been set at 5.5, with the over carrying 11/5 odds and the under carrying 5/16 odds. While there are always surprises in the NFL draft, this one should be fairly easy to predict. Allen, Darnold, Rosen, and Lamar Jackson were all invited to the draft. Mayfield will not attend the draft but he’s obviously expected to be selected tonight as well.

That’s five. Perhaps Mason Rudolph will slip into the first round but I doubt it. The under should cash.

Number of Quarterbacks Selected in Round 1: Under 5.5 (5/16)

Number of Running Backs Selected in Round 1

The over/under for this prop has been set at 1.5 and again, the odds tell you all you need to know. While the over carries 20/53 odds, the under has been set at 1.5 with odds of 37/20. Two running backs were invited to the draft: Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and LSU’s Derrius Guice. Barkley is a virtual guarantee to be selected so the question becomes, will Guice be selected? He was invited to the draft and is being mocked to various teams in the late 20s.

Number of Running Backs Selected in Round 1: Over 1.5 (20/53)

Number of Wide Receivers Selected in Round 1

The over/under for this prop has been set at 2.5, with the over carrying odds of 1/1 and the under listed at 5/7. There was not one wide receiver invited to the draft but Alabama’s Calvin Ridley and Miami’s D.J. Moore have been mocked to various teams but this draft is widely known to be a weak year for wideouts. I’m going under.

Number of Wide Receivers Selected in Round 1: Under 2.5 (5/7)
