Odds against Tebow making roster
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – Forget starting for the Eagles in Week 1, the odds are against quarterback Tim Tebow even cracking Chip Kelly’s roster for 2015.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the odds that Tebow will crack the Eagles’ 53-man roster after signing with the team earlier this week are -400, while the odds that he will make the roster are +250. Thus, oddsmakers are wagering against Tebow making a crowded Philadelphia QB depth chart that already includes Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley.
If Tebow does make the Eagles’ 53-man roster, will he start a game at any point during the season? The odds are against him to pull off that feat as well. Bovada.lv lists the odds that he’ll start a game for Philly this season at -500 while the odds that he will start a game are +300.
Finally, if Tebow makes the Eagles’ 53-man roster, what will happen first? The odds that he throws a touchdown pass or rushes for a touchdown are 2/1, respectively. The odds that he records a touchdown reception have even longer odds at 20/1, while the odds that he gets cut, traded, released or retires are even at 1/1.
