Eagles set to land Murray
PHILADELPHIA, PA (TheSpread) – The Philadelphia Eagles continue to make news this offseason, as they have reportedly reached a deal with running back DeMarco Murray.
Murray was the NFL’s leading rusher last season and one of the top free agents coming into the offseason. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles and Murray have agreed to a five-year, $42 million deal with $21 million in guaranteed money. Murray has played his first four seasons with the Cowboys, rushing for 4,526 yards and 28 touchdowns. Last season, he led the NFL with 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Eagles currently have 20/1 odds to win the Super Bowl in 2016. They are even with the Steelers at 20/1. Seattle is the current favorite at 5/1 while New England has 6/1 odds.
The Eagles are having an interesting free-agency period as they traded LeSean McCoy to the Bills for Kiko Alonso and then traded Nick Foles to the Rams for Sam Bradford. The Eagles also reportedly agreed to a deal with former San Diego running back Ryan Mathews, but that deal has yet to become official and could be null now that Murray is coming to the team.
