Colts add Andre Johnson
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – The Indianapolis Colts added a veteran receiver to the roster on Wednesday by signing Andre Johnson to a deal in free agency.
The deal is being reported by ESPN as worth $21 million over three years. Johnson is set to enter his 13th year in the NFL after playing all 12 seasons prior with the Houston Texans. Johnson had 85 receptions for 936 yards and three touchdowns this past season. The TDs were a career-low for playing 15 games or more. In his career, Johnson has 1,012 catches for 13,597 yards and 64 touchdowns.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Colts are currently listed with 12/1 odds to win Super Bowl 50 in 2016. The Colts join the Denver Broncos as teams with 12/1 odds. The favorite is Seattle with 5/1 odds while New England has 6/1 odds to repeat.
The Colts haven’t been a real offensively inept team. They were first in the NFL in passing last season at 305.9 yards per game. They already addressed their 22nd-ranked rushing attack by signing Frank Gore. The team did decided to part ways with Reggie Wayne, so Johnson could be stepping in in that regard. The Colts are coming off an 11-5 season in 2014 where it reached the AFC Championship.
