Browns add Josh McCown
CLEVELAND, OH (TheSpread) – The Cleveland Browns clouded up their quarterback picture even more on Friday with the signing of Josh McCown to a 3-year deal.
The team announced the deal yesterday, signing the veteran QB, who spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was just 1-10 as a starter, but dealt with injuries along the way. He was released by the Bucs earlier in the month. The journeyman QB has been with the Cardinals, Lions, Raiders, Panthers and Bears during his 12-year career as well.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cleveland Browns are currently listed with 66/1 odds to win Super Bowl 50 next season. Seattle has 11/2 odds and is the favorite, while New England has 6/1 odds to repeat as champions.
After throwing for 1,829 yards and 13 TDs with just one INT for the Bears in 2013, McCown threw for 2,206 yards with 11 TDs and 14 INTs last season in Tampa Bay. He joins a Cleveland team that was 20th in the NFL in passing last season with 216.6 yards per game. Between Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel and Connor Shaw, the Browns threw for 3,678 yards with just 12 TD passes and 16 interceptions.
