NFL Scouting Combine Prop Odds
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (The Spread) - What will the fastest 40-yard dash time be at this year's NFL scouting combine? Let's check out the odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the odds for the fastest 40-yard dash time has an over/under of 4.32 seconds, with the odds for both the over and the under sitting at -120, respectively. The fastest 40-yard dash time over the past couple of years has been Chris Johnson (4.24 in 2008), Jeffery Demps (4.26, 2009) and Stanford Routt (4.27 in 2005). Cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke also ran a 4.28 in 2011.
West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith has an over/under of 4.75 seconds for the 40yard dash, and an o/u of 35.5 for his vertical leap. Smith is widely considered the best quarterback in this year's weak class.
Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has an o/u of 4.37 seconds for his fastest 40-yard dash time, and an o/u of 40.5 for his vertical leap.
Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner, who won't compete in the bench press due to a shoulder injury, has an over/under of 4.45 seconds for his 40-yard dash time and fellow defender Bjoern Werner of Florida State is favored (-200) over LSU's Barkevious Mingo (+150) to record more bench presses.
Who will record a faster 40-yard dash time between cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes and Jonathan Banks? Both corners have odds of -120 on the money line. And who will record the most bench presses between offensive tackle prospects Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher? Again, both players are -120 on the money line.
Meanwhile, the over/under for most reps on the bench press is sitting at 44, while the o/u for the highest vertical leap is 43.
Finally, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o has an over/under of 4.75 seconds for the 40-yard dash and is also -120 to beat out Geno Smith in the event. Smith is also -120 on the money line, respectively.
The 2013 NFL scouting combine kicked off on Wednesday and will run through Tuesday.
