Manning meets with Broncos
DENVER, CO (The Spread) – On Thursday quarterback Peyton Manning met with Broncos brass, presumably to discuss his future with the team.
The Denver Post reports that Manning was picked up by team president Joe Ellis on a private jet in New Orleans and was taken back to Denver. There, it’s assumed that Manning discussed his future not only in Denver but also in general, as he’ll be 39 in March and is undecided on whether or not he wants to keep playing.
There have been conflicting reports over the past week about Manning’s playing status for 2015-16. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that Manning is training in New Orleans with the intention of playing next season, while Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole said there’s a “big question” about whether the Broncos even want Manning back for 2015. As of now though, signs point to Manning returning next season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI the Broncos are currently 14/1 to win the 2016 Super Bowl although that number would likely adjust if Manning officially declares his return for the 2015-16 season. Denver is also 6/1 to win the AFC Conference Championship next season.
