Will Kyle Juszczyk Score a Touchdown? Yes (+500); No (-700)
Juszczyk, a fullback, wasn’t heavily used as a runner this season for San Francisco. He averaged just 0.25 rushing attempts per game and averaged less than a yard (0.58) per carry. He was used more in the receiving game, catching 1.67 passes for 19.92 yards per game during the regular season. His most productive game came against the Cardinals in Week 11 when he caught seven passes for 63 yards. He also totaled three receptions for 22 yards in the team’s win over the Saints.
Shifting to the playoffs, Juszczyk didn’t receive a single carry or target in the Niners’ win over the Vikings in the Divisional round. He failed to get on the stat sheet versus the Packers as well, although he was obviously a big factor in the Niners’ ability to run the ball at will in the NFC Championship Game.
With his lack of production thus far in the postseason, what’s the best play or plays when it comes to Juszczyk’s Super Bowl props? This might be a stretch, but if we go back to the last time San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan called plays in the Super Bowl, it might provide a glimpse into how he’ll use Juszczyk on Sunday.
Despite having Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu, a young Austin Hooper, Devonta Freeman and Taylor Gabriel at his disposal, fullback Patrick DiMarco still caught both of his targets when Shanahan called plays as the Falcons offensive coordinator in Super Bowl LI. Is there any guarantee that Shanahan will use Juszczyk just because DiMarco caught two passes in the loss to the Patriots? No, but all Juszczyk must catch is one pass on Sunday to cash that over. That’s one dump off or one screen and we cash that prop on one play. While the over does carry juice of -150, I like the risk.
Kyle Juszczyk Super Bowl 54 Prop Prediction: OVER 0.5 Receptions (-150)
