2015 NFL Pro Bowl Free Pick
GLENDALE, AZ (ATS Consultants) - Will yet another NFL Pro Bowl be a high-scoring contest when Team Irvin squares off against Team Carter at 8:00PM ET tonight?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Team Carter (led by Hall of Famer Cris Carter) is a 2-point favorite tonight versus Team Irvin (led by Hall of Famer Michael Irvin) in tonight's Pro Bowl. The over/under total for tonight's game is also sitting at 66.5 points. Team Carter is led by coach John Harbaugh of the Ravens while Team Irvin is led by coach Jason Garrett of the Cowboys.
Last year's Pro Bowl did not go over the posted total of 89.5 as Team Jerry Rice beat Team Deion Sanders 22-21, but most NFL all-star games are usually high-scoring because teams don’t play much defense. For example, in 2013 the two teams combined for 97 points while in 2012 the two teams racked up 100 points.
Granted, this is the second year in a row where the league has held a draft where the two captains select from a pool of both AFC and NFC players. But even though Pro Bowl is no longer NFC versus AFC, the game should still be high-scoring given the lack of defense played on both sides. Plus, there's not much strategy that goes into these games so it winds up being a backyard football game featuring the league's biggest stars.
