Can Cobb lead the Pack?
Have the Green Bay Packers found their offense? Does that mean Randall Cobb is set to have a big game against the Arizona Cardinals tonight?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Arizona is favored in this playoff game, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Packers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 49.5 points. These two meet tonight at 8:15PM ET on NBC.
The Packers (11-6, 10-7 ATS) have been inconsistent on offense this year while dealing with injuries to skill players and linemen, but the team seemed to find a groove in last week’s playoff game with the Redskins. Green Bay had four touchdown drives of 60 yards or more in the win and Cobb caught a touchdown pass while getting five carries out of the backfield. On the season, Cobb has caught 79 passes for 829 yards with six touchdowns. Those numbers are down from last season where he caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 scores, but he hasn’t had Jordy Nelson in the lineup all season to help take some of the coverage focus off of him.
For today’s game with the Cardinals (13-3, 9-7 ATS), Cobb has been given an over/under of 5 receptions and 58.5 receiving yards. The Cardinals have the eighth-ranked passing defense in the NFL, allowing just 230.4 yards per game. However, the team continues to be without Tyrann Mathieu, who was injured late in the year. When Cobb met up with the Cardinals a few weeks ago on Dec. 27, he was held to just 3 receptions for 15 yards. It was his worst outing of the season. He has caught at least 5 passes in 10 games this season and had at least 59 yards in five games. If the Packers have in fact found the missing link to their offense, it could be a big game for Cobb.
