Steelers have been profitable as underdog
Out of the four underdogs that will play in the Divisional round this weekend, the Steelers have been the most profitable for bettors in that role this season.
Pittsburgh went 5-2-1 against the spread as an underdog this season, covering the number at a profitable 71.4% clip. In those eight games the Steelers won by an average margin of 0.8 points, winning outright against the Rams (+1.5), Chargers (+4), Cardinals (+5.5) and Bengals (+1). Since Mike Tomlin took over as head coach in 2007, the Steelers are also 24-16-2 against the spread as an underdog.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, Pittsburgh is currently a 7-point road underdog for Sunday's playoff game versus Denver at 4:40PM ET. Questions about the availability of Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder), Antonio Brown (concussion) and DeAngelo Williams (ankle) will follow the Steelers leading up to this weekend's Divisional round matchup.
As for the three other teams that will take the field as underdogs this weekend, the Chiefs were 1-3 against the spread as a dog this season, while the Seahawks went 1-1-1 and the Packers were 2-1 ATS in that role.
