NFL Divisional Round Betting Report
With Cody Parkey’s field goal attempt doinking not once, but twice of the post, the Eagles were the final team to advance to the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs. Here’s a quick-hit look at the four matchups that we’ll see this weekend, complete with betting odds for every game.
301 Indianapolis Colts at 302 Kansas City Chiefs, Saturday, 4:35 p.m. ET
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Chiefs opened as 5.5-point home favorites but the line has climbed to the current number of 6. As for the total, it hit the board at 56.5 but with the scoring capabilities of both teams, the number rose to 57.
Andrew Luck and the Colts have covered the spread in seven of their last eight trips to Arrowhead and are 11-4 against the number in their last 15 games versus the Chiefs overall. The road team has also covered in four of the last five meetings between these two teams while the under cashed ins ix of the previous eight meetings.
303 Dallas Cowboys at 304 Los Angeles Rams, 8:15 p.m. ET, Saturday
With the Rams on the west coast and the Cowboys having national appeal, it’s no surprise that this matchup occupies the primetime slot on Saturday night. L.A. opened as a 7-point home favorite and that’s where the number currently sits at most sportsbooks. The total hasn’t moved off the original number of 49, either.
After allowing a wicked backdoor cover to the Seahawks (+2.5) in their two-point win last Saturday night, the Cowboys are now just 1-4 against the spread in their last five playoff games. The Rams, meanwhile, are just 1-4-1 against the number in their last six home games.
305 Los Angeles Chargers at 306 New England Patriots, Sunday, 1:05 p.m. ET
Even though things got hairy in the end, the Chargers hung on to beat the Ravens as a 3-point road dog and again find themselves as underdogs when they visit the Patriots on Sunday. New England opened as 4.5-point home favorites and that’s where the line currently sits, although with L.A. once again attracting heavy action from public bettors, this spread could drop at some point this week. The total, meanwhile, currently sits at 47.5 points after opening at that same number.
The Chargers are winless at 0-4 against the spread in their last four games versus the Patriots and the favorite has cashed in four of the last five meetings. The under, meanwhile, is 5-1 at the betting window in the last six meetings between these two teams.
307 Philadelphia Eagles at 308 New Orleans Saints, 4:40 p.m. ET, Sunday
After pulling off the upset Sunday in Chicago, the Eagles will once again be a heavy underdog, this time in New Orleans. The Saints opened as 8-point home favorites but the line has already climbed to 9 at most books despite the Eagles attracting most of the betting tickets. The total remains unchanged after opening at 51.
The Eagles are 1-4 against the spread in their last five meetings with the Saints but are a perfect 4-0 against the number in their last four playoff games after covering against the Bears last week. The Saints, meanwhile, have lost four of five at the betting window.
