NFL Jets vs. Bills Week 17 Picks & Predictions

Chris Ivory and the Jets can clinch a playoff spot in the AFC with a win today but their former coach Rex Ryan and the Bills stand in their way.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI currently list the Jets as 3-point road favorites versus the Bills for today's pivotal 1:00PM ET matchup. New York opened as a 1.5-point favorite but with so much on the line for the Jets, the spread has been bet up to the key number of a field goal. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 41 points after opening at 43.

The Jets are 10-5 straight up this season and 8-5-2 against the spread, while the Bills are 7-8 overall and 7-7-1 at the betting window. With Buffalo eliminated and New York playing for a playoff spot, 74% of public bettors are currently backing the Jets to cover the 3 points today.

Free Pick:

Ryan would want nothing more than to beat his former team and sweep the Jets in his first season as Buffalo's head coach. But while the Bills played hard for Rex in a 22-17 win on Thursday Night Football last month, it's hard to envision Buffalo matching New York's intensity today.

The Bills will also be without running back LeSean McCoy after he sprained his MCL in Week 15, and it'll be tough sledding for Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee against the Jets' outstanding front seven. Even though New York is a heavy public play, it's too enticing to lay only a field goal on a Jets team that is playing for its playoff life.
