COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -Missouri coach Gary Pinkel says he has agreed to a new contract, pending approval by the school’s Board of Curators.
In announcing the verbal agreement on Monday, Pinkel said he’s committed to the university and “excited about continuing to build the program.”
Pinkel says he hopes to sign the contract “in the next couple of days.” The curators are scheduled to meet tomorrow.
The school announced last week that it was finalizing a second raise in two years for Pinkel, who has led the 12th-ranked Tigers to a 21-4 record the last two seasons.
This year, Missouri is 9-2, winning the Big 12 North for the second straight season. The Tigers will play in the conference championship game on Dec. 6 in Kansas City.
