HANOVER, N.H. (AP) -Connor Louden kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime Saturday to give Princeton a 17-14 victory after Dartmouth drove 85 yards to tie the score as regulation time ended.
Jon Stem set up Louden's winning kick when he recovered a fumble by Nate Servis on the second play of the extra session. Louden, who had both extra point conversions for Princeton (4-6, 3-4 Ivy League), kicked the winner on the Tigers' third play after the recovery.
Dartmouth (3-7, 3-4) forced overtime when Tom Bennewitz, who had 27-for-56 passing, good for 276 yards, engineered a 12-play touchdown drive in the final 64 seconds. He hit Phil Galligan on a 6-yard touchdown pass as the fourth period ended and Andrew Kempler kicked the extra point to make it 14-14.
After stopping Dartmouth's opening drive, Brian Anderson engineered scoring drives on Princeton's first two possessions. Anderson, who finished with 186 yards passing and 72 running, connected with Adam Berry on a 51-yeard pass to the Dartmouth 2, and Rob Toresco barreled into the end zone on the next play.
The Tigers again stonewalled the Big Green and Anderson directed a 10-play, 71-yard scoring drive. Anderson rolled to his left, tucked the ball under his left arm and cut back against the pursuit, rolling into the end zone for a 9-yard TD run.
Dartmouth's first score in the fourth quarter came when Dan Kopolovich was called for defensive pass interference, giving the Green first down on the 2. On his third plunge, Brian Mahoney crashed through the line from the 1 for touchdown and Kempler converted with 8:42 remaining.
In the final minutes, the teams swapped pass interceptions. A penalty moved Dartmouth to the Princeton 31 with under a minute remaining, setting the stage, six plays later, for Bennewitz and Galligan's touch pass as time ran out.
