CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) – Ohio State coach Urban Meyer doesn’t expect his Buckeyes to look past Illinois this Saturday.
And he says they better not.
No. 3 Ohio State (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) is putting up 48.2 points a game. Illinois (3-6, 0-5) has given up 43.5 a game the past four weeks.
Illinois’ best chance may rest with the arm of quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase. He’s leading the Big Ten in passing with 268.9 yards a game.
Illini coach Tim Beckman says Scheelhaase is healthy a season after struggling with injuries.
While the Buckeyes are trying to stay in the national title chase the Illini are trying to end a 19-game Big Ten losing streak.
