IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -Iowa running back Shonn Greene is expected to play Saturday when the Hawkeyes face Michigan State.
Greene suffered a head injury early in the fourth quarter of last week’s 22-17 loss against Northwestern and did not return.
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says Greene was cleared to practice on Tuesday.
Greene ranks sixth in the nation with 133 yards rushing per game. He’s rushed for over 100 yards in every game this season, averaging 6.7 yards per carry.
Greene’s return will set up a showdown of two of the country’s best backs. Michigan State’s Javon Ringer leads the nation with 179.4 yards per game.
