PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -Rutgers suspended leading receiver Kenny Britt and highly regarded starting left tackle Anthony Davis for Saturday’s game against Morgan State for an undisclosed violation of team policy.
The suspensions, which will last only one game, were announced just minutes before the kickoff.
Britt had 21 catches for 262 yards in the first three games. Dennis Campbell, who has not caught a pass this season, replaced him in the starting lineup.
The suspensions came less than a week after coach Greg Schiano opted not to suspended starting quarterback Mike Teel for throwing a punch at teammate Glen Lee in the waning seconds of the Scarlet Knights loss to Navy last Saturday.
Lee had told Teel to keep his head up and hustle off the field after throwing a late interception in a 23-21 loss, and Teel took it the wrong way.
