PEMBROKE, N.C. (AP) -Taylor Baskett made a 25-yard field with 1:13 left in the fourth quarter and UNC-Pembroke rallied in the second half to beat Jacksonville 22-21 on Saturday.
The Dolphins (2-2) held a 21-3 lead with 9:37 left in the third quarter after Rudell Small ran for a 2-yard touchdown. But Jacksonville scored no more as the Division II Braves (3-1) answered with 19 straight points.
Keith Gore started UNC-Pembroke’s comeback with a 3-yard touchdown run in the third. In the fourth, Rashon Kennedy followed with a 4-yard score and Baskett made a 31-yard field goal and then connected on his game winner to lift the Braves to the win.
Garrett Sutphen was 14 of 21 passing for 123 yards and an interception for UNC-Pembroke. Rashon Kennedy ran for 62 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. UNC-Pembroke also forced five turnovers.
Rudell Small led Jacksonville with 96 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries.
