LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -Nebraska running back Collins Okafor has left the football program.
Coach Bo Pelini announced the redshirt freshman’s departure Wednesday in a statement that offered no explanation.
The 6-1, 225-pound Okafor had been expected to compete for playing time this fall, but in the first two games he’d remained behind junior Roy Helu and freshman Rex Burkhead on the depth chart.
Okafor is the second running back to leave the team this fall.
Last month, Quentin Castille was dismissed for violating team rules. The 6-1, 235-pound Castille has since transferred to Northwestern State University in Louisiana.
