SEATTLE (AP) -Washington granted linebacker E.J. Savannah a release from his scholarship on Tuesday, allowing the Huskies’ leading tackler last season to transfer to a school outside the Pac-10.
Savannah was academically ineligible to begin preseason training camp last month.
The native of Bellevue, Wash., will be required to sit out the upcoming season due to NCAA transfer rules. The junior will have one year of eligibility remaining.
