LA Tech Bulldogs Game Notes
Louisiana Tech received a verbal commitment from sophomore DL Omar Sims, formerly of Jacksonville State. Sims (6’2/280) was a member of the 2021 recruiting class and appeared in just two games for Jacksonville State. Sims managed just one tackle on the season but is now headed to Louisiana Tech, where he’ll look to latch on this upcoming season. With a month until the season starts, it’s unlikely Sims sees significant playing time early in the season but could earn more of a role throughout the season.
Missouri Tigers Game Notes
Missouri sophomore QB Brady Cook has been named the team’s starting quarterback. A former three-star prospect who was considered the 29th quarterback from the 2020 prep cycle, Cook (6’2″/203) was the prohibited favorite for the Mizzou QB following spring practices. Last season he saw game action in three contests, starting one, and completed a very strong 79% of his passes. It should be noted that his 58 total pass attempts is a small sample size and that Cook averaged a very low 5.9 yards per attempt. However he is clearly the best signal caller on the Tigers’ roster and should be dialed in for Mizzou’s season opening against Louisiana Tech on Thursday, September 1.

The Tigers have dropped seven of their last nine home games ATS, are 1-4 against the number in their last five non-conference games and are winless at the betting window in their last four games played in the month of September. Mizzou has had plenty of issues in the early part of its season, which includes six straight ATS losses to kick off its 2021-22 season.
