CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -Football has never meant more to Miami defensive end Eric Moncur.
His best friend and teammate Bryan Pata was killed in 2006. His mother died of cancer last year, and Moncur's 2008 season was marred by a series of injuries. But the NCAA gave Moncur a sixth year of eligibility, and his final season at Miami got underway Saturday when the Hurricanes opened training camp.
Moncur says he's vowing to take advantage of that extra chance.
