ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -Georgia guard Tanner Strickland will miss the 2009 season with a shoulder injury.
Tanner, a sophomore, will need surgery following an injury to his right shoulder in offseason workouts. Georgia director of sports medicine Ron Courson said Wednesday a full recovery is expected for Tanner.
Tanner was listed as Georgia’s starting left guard on the team’s preseason depth chart. The backup is junior Chris Davis.
Strickland played in 13 games in 2008 on special teams and as a backup lineman after being redshirted in 2007.
