MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -Bowling Green quarterback Tyler Sheehan injured his left ankle late in the first half of the GMAC Bowl and wasn’t expected to return Sunday night.
The sophomore was hurt on a hit with 24 seconds left in the half against Tulsa, and was helped off the field. He returned from the locker room in the second half on crutches.
The ankle wasn’t broken, according to a Bowling Green spokesman.
Sheehan completed 14 of 19 passes for 141 yards and also had a 23-yard run, but his team went into the half trailing 35-0.
Redshirt freshman Anthony Glaud replaced him.
Sheehan finished the season with 3,264 yards, the third-best season total in Bowling Green history.
