Russell Athletic Bowl Odds
The Russell Athletic Bowl should feature plenty of offense as No. 10 North Carolina meets up with No. 17 Baylor at 5:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, North Carolina is favored in today’s game, as the Tar Heels are getting odds of -3.5 points against Baylor. The over/under total for the game has been set at 69 points. These two meet today at 5:30PM ET on ESPN. The game takes place from the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL.
UNC (11-2, 8-5 ATS) ranks 10th in the nation in scoring, putting up 40.9 points per game while Baylor (9-3, 5-6-1 ATS) leads the country in scoring (61.5 ppg) and total offense (604.6 ypg). Strong quarterback play has been a big reason for that for both teams. Marquise Williams has had a stellar year with his arms and legs. The senior QB has thrown for 2,829 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 867 yards and 11 scores. Oddsmakers have listed him with an over/under of 257.5 passing yards and 74.5 rushing yards for today’s bowl game. He has thrown for 258 yards or more in three games and rushed for at least 75 yards in four games.
Baylor has had great quarterback play as well, but they have had a lot of bad luck with injuries. Seth Russell injured his neck mid-season and Jarrett Stidham was injured late in the year. Chris Johnson is now the man, but he has played limited action. He is just 15 of 38 passing for 220 yards and three touchdowns. He has appeared in Baylor’s last three games. Johnson has been given an over/under of 252.5 passing yards for today’s game. Interestingly he hasn’t thrown for that total for the season, but he faces a UNC defense that ranks 78th in total defense, allowing 411.3 yards per game.
