Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Hurricanes are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Badgers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 45 points. As of this writing, 62% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Badgers.
Miami Hurricanes
Miami redshirt senior QB Malik Rosier will start the Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday. Hurricanes HC Mark Richt dubbed Rosier starter on Wednesday. In addition, he told reporters that N’Kosi Perry — who got into hot water over an ill-advised Snapchat post recently — is not suspended for the contest and will be available to play against the Badgers should he be needed. For his part, Rosier now has a chance to go out a winner after he and Perry swapped starting roles several times during the campaign. The redshirt senior signal-caller finished the 2018 regular season throwing for 1,007 yards (53.5-percent completions) with a 6/5 TD/INT ratio in seven games.
Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin sophomore QB Jack Coan will start the team’s Pinstripe Bowl matchup with Miami on Dec. 27. Coan will be starting in place of Alex Hornibrook, who is dealing with recurring symptoms from a concussion sustained midway through the 2018 campaign. The sophomore signal-caller started three of Wisconsin’s final four games. On the whole, the 6-foot-3, 211-pounder has thrown for 488 yards with a 4/2 TD/INT ratio this season. No great shakes on the statistical front, but he’ll try his best to help Wisconsin finish out a dreadfully disappointing year on a high note come the Pinstripe Bowl.

Prediction
Outside of Clemson, Miami owns one of the best defensive front fours in college football but I don’t trust the Hurricanes’ offense, nor do I trust a warm-weather team getting up for a cold-weather game. This Miami team can hang with most opponents in the nation but it has to be motivated and I question how motivated the ‘Canes are against a Badgers team that’s used to playing in this sort of weather. Miami is 1-5 against the spread in its last six Big Ten games and is 1-6 ATS in its last seven bowl contests.
